In addition to the schedule below, we offer a combination vaccine called Pentacel that combines the DTaP, IPV, and Hib doses at 2, 4, and 6 months into a single shot for each visit. This means, should you chose the Pentacel there would be two shots and the oral vaccine Rotateq at the 2, 4, and 6 month visits. There is also flexibility with the Hib and DTaP doses at 12-15 months. These can be combined and given at the 15 or 18 month visit.
Gardasil (HPV) is currently offered to female patients age 9-21 and has been licensed for use in males of the same age. We are currently awaiting insurance clearance prior to offering the vaccine for males. It is given in a three dose series at intervals of 0, 2, and 6 months. Menactra is offered to all patients age 11-18 as a single dose. Prevnar 13 has replaced Prevnar 7 for the complete series of 4 doses. For children who are less than 5 years old and received all doses as Prevnar 7, a booster dose with Prevnar 13 is recommended. Visit Prevnar13.com for more information.
*Other well child visits include 18 months, 2 years, and annually thereafter.
